Andrea  Silva

                  {Owner/ Head Taxidermist}

My affinity for natural history began at an early age, collecting insects and animals, both living and not.  My interest in taxidermy work initially steamed from the desire to learn about osteology, and begin creating re-articulated skeletons.  Thankfully my, then naive, thought process convinced me formal training in taxidermy would be beneficial before diving into bone structures. Neglecting to fully understand the differences in bone and skin, I sought out an apprenticeship with Chad Evans, Evans Taxidermy, where I fell in love with the museum science and artfulness of Taxidermy.

After completing my apprenticeship, and with Evans closing down his own operation after 20 years, a "passing of the torch," seemed to take place as he encouraged be to start open my own studio.

Through his encouragement,  and the continued and overwhelming support of Jamal Yanaki, the birth of Remnant Preservations has allowed me the opportunity to share my passion for quality taxidermy for those in all legs of life.
